Baitussalam operates under the guidance of respected senior Islamic scholars and the close supervision of Hazrat Maulana Abdus Sattar (DB). Hazrat Maulana Abdus Sattar (DB) is the Imam and Khateeb of Baitussalam masjid situated in DHA Phase IV, Karachi. It is under this blessed shade that the diverse and extensive e efforts of Baitusslam are coordinated and executed.

The remarkable journey of BWT took a humble start in December 2010. The devastating floods of 2010 struck the provinces of Sindh and Punjab and rendered many homeless. Some sincere souls from diverse professional and social backgrounds came together to lend a helping hand to the victims. As a result, BWT was formed.

Soon BWT volunteers spread across far inaccessible areas to distribute aid amongst the affected. However, the founders and volunteers of BWT started looking beyond the short-term relief that they were providing for the stricken victims. They envisioned a world where there would be free access to knowledge, clean drinking water and health facilities.

With the grace of Allah the almighty, BWT has been growing exponentially ever since. It has established an array of diverse educational institutions ranging from Pre-primary to the postgraduate level where tens of thousands of students study free of cost, and also set up free medical camps. With the distribution of Ration, supply of clean drinking water, funeral services, distribution of free medicines, meat distribution on Eid ul Adha and the distribution of food packages among the needy, BWT is now serving not only in Pakistan but also internationally.

As the Syrian crisis unfolded and the devastated refugees started to flood Turkey and other neighbouring countries, BWT joined hands with AFAD (Turkish Disaster Management Agency) to help the distressed and oppressed. As back to back delegations visited the refugees and distributed aid among them, an agreement between BWT and AFAD was inked for the establishment of Two bakeries that would produce 300,000 breads daily to cater for the needs of the refugees
